The payment process (application fee and deposits) for the apply site has changed. The new process relies on the applicant waiting to be redirected back to their application after completing the payment. For the application fee, this is what sets their application to Submitted status and assigns the Application Round.
The Admissions Application was moved from a Salesforce Visualforce site to a Salesforce Community May 2020. Most of these changes will be invisible to the applicant.

The June 2023 U.S. Supreme Court ruling limits how colleges and universities consider race during the admissions process. If a Recommender cannot see the Recommendation in their Recommender account, it is likely that the Admissions Application Recommenders record did not connect the Recommender's contact record correctly. This can be due to several reasons:

The first page applicants land on after login is the Status page, which lists their current and previous applications. Nintex Drawloop is used to mail merge templates. Letter templates are created in Microsoft Word by using a Field tagger that inserts specially formatted field names from the Admissions Application objects into the template.

Test Scores are handled in a custom object called Test Score. There is now automation that will update read-only fields on the Admissions Application with the highest score of each type from the associated Test Score records.
