CCE Erie - Konica Copier

If staff work in the CCE Erie SNAP office location, they have access to print to a Konica copier.

Please see your local IT contact if you need the Konica copier installed and/or if you need to know what department code to use when printing.

Setting Default Print Settings and Account Code

By default, CCE printers that require account codes will prompt for the account number with every print job.  This works well if you have to track the printing activity on more than one account.  However this step can be tedious and can be circumvented by following the instructions below if you only have one account number that is used to track printing. 

  1. Go to the windows search and type in Printers & Scanners and click to open.

  2. Click on the Konica printer you want to configure and select Manage then click Printer Preferences
     
  3. In the 'Basic' tab, click the 'Authentication/Account Track' button.In the 'Basic' tab, click the 'Authentication/Account Track' button.
  4. Enter your departmental printing account code under the password field. Department name can be left blank.  If you don't know your account code, ask your supervisor.  
     
  5. Click OK.  Do not close the window by clicking the X or Cancel, as this will not save your settings.
     
  6. Back under My Tab, under Print Type, you can choose to have 1-sided or 2-sided printing set as the default.

  7. Click on Quality tab, change to Gray Scale under the “Select Color” option.

  8. Click OK to save and close the Printer Preferences dialog box.
     
  9. Click on Printer Properties.Click on Printer Properties.
     
  10. Select the Settings tab and click the Authentication Settings buttonSelect the Settings tab and click the Authentication Settings button
     
  11. Uncheck the box that has "Popup Authentication Dialog when printing", if you do not want to be prompted to enter the print code each time you print.

  12. Click OK to save your settings

Note: To be prompted for an account code with every print job, leave the Popup Authentication Dialog when printing box checked. If you experience any issues with these settings, please submit a Service Request.

 

Installing a Konica copier - IT Staff Instructions

 

Note: In the past, the Konica model specific drivers were used.  Unfortunately, Windows 11 24h2 has an issue with c250i specific drivers. Konica website
If Konica already installed, go into printer properties and simply update to universal driver.  No need to reinstall.

  1. Download the Universal drivers from the Konica Universal Drivers website.
    • OR download copy of recent drivers from "N:\Public\Konica c250i v3.1.12.0" to Downloads folder 
    • From the driver list, the recommendation is to download the most recent ZIP file option in the Konica website list.

Method 1: Install from Setup file

  1. Extract the zip file.
  2. Navigate to the PCL subfolder, and run the UPDSetup.exe file.
    • Note: Admin credentials will be needed to run the installer.
  3. Installer may not detect printer - select "Install (Manual Settings)" to use IP address
  4. Click "Add to list"
  5. Under Port options, click on Port Settings
  6. Under Port name, enter the IP address

  7. Under Model, select the correct model from the drop down list.

  8. Click Next and then Install to start installation
  9. After installation (there is no confirmation once its installed, the window simply disappears), go to the printer list and select the printer to change its default preferences
    • Use above instructions to set default print preferences.
  10. Test printing 

Method 2: Install manually using IP address

  1. Extract the zip file.
  2. Open Printers & Scanners from the Start menu
  3. Click on Add Device
  4. Click on Add a new device manually link
  5. In the Add Printer pop up box
    1. Select Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings and click Next
    2. Select Create a new port
    3. Under Type of port, select Standard TCP/IP Port from drop down menu and click Next
    4. Enter the IP address of the copier
      1. SNAP office - 10.19.54.12
    5. ​​​​​​​Ensure "Query the printer" option is UNCHECKED and click Next
    6. Click on "Have Disk" button
    7. In the Install From Disk pop up box, click Browse and navigate to the PCL 64-bit driver folder to select driver.
    8. Verify "Konica MINOLTA Universal PCL" is listed and selected and click Next
    9. For the version option:
      1. Use driver currently installed is OKAY if another Konica is installed and drivers are working as they should.
      2. Use Replace the current driver if there have been issues.
    10. Change the printer name to be more user friendly and click Next

    11. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Select Do not share this printer and click Next
    12. Click Finish
  6. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​After installation, go to the printer list and select the printer to change its default preferences

  7. Test printing
