Sometimes (several times per year) faculty have one-time situations or corrections to their course bank stats that need to be entered. The best way to do this is to use what is called "operational non-courses". In the Cornell courses, there are a number of this type of course, which allows teaching activities to be applied to adjust credit amounts upward.
There are about 10 of these operational non-courses. If none of them fit the situation in particular, use "Course Banking Credit One-Time Non-Course". You can see a list of the available operational non-courses using the operational non-course view in the Cornell Courses object. They are also listed below, as of 3/20/2024.
- Create a Teaching Activity
- Select the operational non-course
- Enter the desired credit amount
- If this credit is in a different year than the current year, enter that in the YearTerm Override using the format "2024SP"
- Enter narrative in the Explanation as to what's going on
- If this will be Projected for the following semester, click the Projected box
- Save
- Verify the numbers. Click "Recalculate Course Bank" if necessary.
