Software

The following software will either be installed on your CCE computer or available for installation, depending on your position.

• Adobe Acrobat – Installed on every computer to allow staff to view PDFs, and also fill and sign PDF forms.
   
• Box Drive – Box is a free service for Cornell faculty, students, staff, and affiliates that allows you to share and collaborate on documents and other files online.
   
• Cisco AnyConnect – VPN (Virtual Private Network) software used to access CCE and campus networks and resources when you are not in a CCE office.
   
• Crashplan  – Backup software that allows you to easily recover any deleted or overwritten files saved to your computer.  
   
• CrowdStrike - Malware protection software. It runs in the background and actively scans for threats on your computer. If it detects a threat, it will notify IT Support.
   
• Microsoft Office 365 - Includes Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Access. Cloud services include Teams, Exchange, OneDrive and SharePoint.
   
• Spirion – Software that should be run periodically to scan your hard drive for potential sensitive data, such as Social Security numbers, credit card or bank account numbers.  
   
• Zoom – Full-featured web and video conferencing service that offers online meetings and webinars.
   
• Web Browsers - Firefox, Chrome and Edge are installed.  You may choose your preference as the default.  It is recommended that you sign into the browser and turn sync on to have your bookmarks automatically backed up.  (Do not use a personal e-mail for this.)  Keep in mind some websites may work better in certain browsers (ex. Acumatica works best in Chrome.)

Other Software

The following software can be requested based on business need.

• Adobe Acrobat Professional and/or Adobe Creative Cloud -  
  • Adobe Acrobat Pro allows staff to edit PDF documents and create PDF forms.
  • Adobe Creative Cloud is a is a set of applications that gives subscribers access to a collection of software used for graphic design, video editing, web development, photography and more. 
     
• ArcGIS - A cloud-based mapping and analysis solution. Use it to make maps, analyze data, and to share and collaborate. Request license and view online trainings:
