Exchange Group Accounts (EGAs)

Description

An Exchange Group Account (EGA) is a fully featured mailbox that can be accessed by multiple people. EGAs are useful when more than one person handles incoming messages, or when messages are intended for a particular purpose rather than a particular person. These shared mailboxes work well as generic email accounts for Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) Associations or programs — they allow email to be monitored by multiple staff members and for access to be transferred to others when staff leave the Association or CCE.

CCE EGA email accounts can also be used with other Cornell services, such as Zoom, Box, and Adobe Sign.

Accessing Exchange Account Manager

Exchange Account Manager (EAM) is Cornell’s system for managing shared email accounts, departmental mailboxes, conference room calendars, and other Exchange resources. If your office needs a shared inbox, changes to mailbox access, or help managing resource accounts, contact your Regional IT staff for guidance on the best solution and assistance with setup.
