Body

Admissions staff use Mogli to text with applicants from Salesforce. Each conversation happens on a program's phone number, called a Gateway in Mogli. For the opt in rules and who can be texted, see Mogli SMS.

Your program's gateway

Each program has its own gateway, and you have access only to your own program's gateway. You can send texts from it, and see texts sent to it, but you cannot use another program's number.

Program Phone number
Cornell MBA (607) 219-6648
Cornell Executive MBA Americas (607) 567-0030
Cornell Executive MBA NYC (607) 597-8138
Executive MBA/MS in Healthcare Leadership (646) 914-3276

If you cannot see your program's gateway, ask the Salesforce team to add you to it.

Before you text an applicant

  • Check that Mogli Opt In is ticked on the Application and Mogli Opt Out is not.
  • Only US and Canada numbers can be texted. International numbers cannot be texted through Mogli at this time.
  • If the applicant texted STOP, your texts will not reach them until they text START.

When an applicant texts your program

  • Only the Cornell MBA number sends an automatic reply. It tells the applicant to call the Cornell MBA Admissions team.
  • Texts to the EMBA numbers get no automatic reply, so watch for them with Mogli Notifications.

Mogli Notifications

Mogli tells a user when a text comes in. Each user chooses which gateways and records they are told about, and whether a sound plays. For the full details, see Mogli's guide, Mogli Notifications.

Where notifications appear. In the Admissions app, the Mogli Notifications item in the utility bar, at the bottom of the app, blinks when a text comes in. Click it to see the notifications, and click a notification to open the record the text belongs to. Clear All Notifications marks them all as seen.

Set your own notifications.

  1. In the utility bar, click Mogli Notifications, then Settings.
  2. In Allow Notifications For, choose which notifications you want.
  3. Select your program's gateway. You must select at least one gateway, or Select All Gateways, or you get no notifications.
  4. Select the records you want notifications for.
  5. Check or uncheck Play Notification Sound.
  6. Click Update.

See every user's settings. In the Mogli SMS app, open the Notification Settings tab. Each record shows one user's settings, and its related list shows the gateways that user selected.

Not getting notifications? Check these first:

  • At least one gateway, or Select All Gateways, is selected in the user's settings.
  • The user has read, create and edit access to the Push Topics object. Mogli recommends adding read access to Push Topics on the user's profile.
  • The user is in an app with the Mogli Notifications item, such as the Admissions app.

Push, email and text notifications need Mogli's Notifications+ add on.
