Who this is for / when to use it
Use this if you are JCB staff or faculty and one of your office printers is giving you trouble — for example:
- A printer shows as offline or won't connect.
- You send a job and nothing prints.
- A printer you used to have is missing from your list.
- You're working from home and can't reach your office printer.
JCB office printers are managed through PrinterLogic, a self-service printer system. Most of the problems above you can fix yourself in a couple of minutes using the steps below.
Are you a student, or looking for pay-for-print / swipe-release printing? That's a different system called CU Print — see the CU Print setup guides for Windows or Mac instead.
Before you start
- Be signed in to your JCB Windows or Mac computer with your NetID.
- Know the name or location of the printer you're trying to reach (e.g. the room number or the label on the device).
- If you're off campus, connect to the JCB VPN first — office printers are only reachable on the campus network. See How to Connect to the JCB VPN.
Fix it yourself (fastest)
1. If a printer is offline or a job won't print
- Check the physical printer: make sure it's powered on, has no error lights or paper/toner messages on its display, and its network cable (if any) is seated.

- Turn the printer off, wait about 15 seconds, and turn it back on. Give it a minute to reconnect to the network. This clears the majority of "offline" and "not printing" cases.
- Try your print job again. If it still fails, remove and re-add the printer using the steps in section 2 — this refreshes the connection.
2. If a printer is missing, or you need to add one
- Open the PrinterLogic self-service printer list at https://jcb.printercloud.com/install.php. Printers are organized into folders by building (e.g. Bloomberg Building NYC, Breazzano, Lexington, Sage, Statler Hall, Statler Hotel, Warren) — open your building's folder, or use the "Printer name or location" search box at the top left.

- Find the printer by name or location, select it, and click Install (or double-click it). A "Confirm installation" dialog appears showing the selected printer — click Yes to install it. To make it your default, tick "Set as default printer" in that dialog before clicking Yes.

- Wait for the install to finish. A "Notice" dialog confirms the install (e.g. "'JCB-Statler-125-HPM428' has been successfully installed.") — click OK, then send a test page.

Printing from off campus
JCB office printers live on the campus network, so from home or while traveling you must be on the JCB VPN before you can print to them. If your office printer is offline only when you're remote, this is almost always the reason.
- Connect to the JCB VPN — see How to Connect to the JCB VPN.
- Once connected, open the PrinterLogic list (section 2) and confirm your printer is present, then print as usual.
Common problems / if that didn't work
- Printer still shows offline after a power cycle — remove and re-add it via PrinterLogic (section 2). If it still won't connect, the device may need on-site attention — contact JCB IT.
- The printer isn't in my PrinterLogic list at all — you may not be assigned to it yet, or it's in a different area. Contact JCB IT with the printer's name/location so we can add it for you.
- Nothing prints, no error — confirm you sent it to the right printer (not an old or duplicate entry), then remove the duplicate and re-add the correct one.
- Works in the office but not from home — connect to the JCB VPN first (see above).
- A whole lab or shared room has no printers — that's a deployment we manage centrally, not a self-service fix. Contact JCB IT and tell us the room.
Still stuck?
If the steps above didn't resolve it, contact JCB IT with the printer name/location and what you've already tried.
