Unifocus Scheduling and Labor Management: Manager and Employee Login Problems

About Unifocus

Unifocus is the Statler Hotel workforce management system. It handles scheduling, time tracking, labor forecasting, and payroll integration across every hotel department. You may hear it called "Unifocus," "LMS," "Scheduling," "the Scheduling Tool," or "Labor Management." It runs on the web and as a mobile app. Most sign-in problems are caused by the browser cache.

Unifocus has two kinds of user, and they sign in differently:

  • Managers sign in on the web with the partner code cornell, then through Cornell SSO.
  • Employees sign in on the mobile app with the partner code cornellees, using a password they set themselves (no SSO).

Who to contact

Manager sign-in problems, account type changes, and several people unable to sign in go to the Finance Product Champion, who owns Unifocus and is the only contact with the vendor. Mobile app invitations are sent by an employee's department manager.

If you cannot sign in on the web - try these first

  1. Open a private or incognito browser window and try to sign in again.
  2. Clear the browser cache and cookies, then try again.
  3. Turn off all browser extensions, then try again.
  4. Try a different browser - Chrome, Edge, or Firefox.
  5. Confirm you have a working internet connection.
  6. Fully close and restart the browser, then try again.
  7. Ask whether other people are seeing the same problem. If several people cannot sign in, Unifocus is probably offline. Tell the Finance Product Champion.
  8. Confirm you are using the correct web address or bookmark.

If you are a manager and cannot sign in

  1. Confirm the partner code is cornell and that Cornell SSO is working for you.
  2. If you still cannot sign in, contact the Finance Product Champion.

If you are an employee and cannot sign in

  1. Confirm the partner code is cornellees.
  2. If you never received the mobile app invite, your department manager can resend it from the Employee Maintenance section of Unifocus, by email or by PDF. If the email invite fails repeatedly, the manager can create the PDF invite and attach it to an email to you, or print it.
  3. The mobile app is free on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. Download it yourself, then register using the instructions in the invite.
  4. For any problem with the mobile app, delete the app (this clears all app data on the device), then reinstall it from scratch.
  5. If you have not signed in for a long time, you may need to be invited again. Your department manager resends the invite as in step 2.

If you were promoted to a manager role

Your account type may need to change from "Employee" to "User." If you still cannot sign in after the change, the vendor has to reset something on the backend through a support ticket. Contact the Finance Product Champion, who opens that ticket.

Common questions

  • Several people cannot sign in. Unifocus is probably offline. Tell the Finance Product Champion.
  • A manager is using the employee partner code, or the other way round. Managers use cornell; employees use cornellees.
  • A new employee never got the mobile app invite. Their department manager resends it.

Still need help?

The order is: the Finance Product Champion, then the vendor (Unifocus), then the IT help desk (log a ticket), then the Hotel System Manager. Only the Finance Product Champion contacts Unifocus.

Always log a ticket with the IT help desk first (itrequests@business.cornell.edu). If the situation is critical or urgent, you can then contact the Hotel System Manager directly, after you have submitted the ticket. Your manager or department director knows how to reach the Hotel System Manager and is empowered to do so based on their judgment.
