Managed Web Hosting

Static Web Hosting

A static site uses only HTML to serve its pages, so you can use CSS, JavaScript, and server-side includes, but there are no provisions for CGI or other programming options.

Typical use? If you have a website that does not require back-end programming languages like ColdFusion or PHP, then static web hosting might be best suited for your needs.

Note: Static sites have a 1 GB quota.

Web Design Options
If you are doing your own web design, programming, and maintenance, you can request a hosted site. You or your team are responsible for all design, coding, web accessibility, maintenance, patching, updating, testing, etc. for the site content and any applications running on the site. For more information, complete a Request for Service form.

If you'd like assistance with web design, programming, and maintenance, the Custom Development team offers site development, maintenance, and support tasks such as design, needs analysis, Q&A, installation and updates, etc. New requests can be sent to Integrated Web Services (IWS) at iws-support@cornell.edu.

If you want to use a third-party contractor, you'll need to request a Sponsored NetID. For more information see the Request a Sponsored NetID procedure.
