Body

  1. If you are not currently connected to a Cornell network, you must first connect using the Cisco AnyConnect VPN software.  Ask your IT support technician for documentation on getting connected to the VPN if you haven’t already done so.
  2. Open File Explorer.  You can do this by double clicking on This PC (Windows 10) or My Computer (Windows 7).  You can also use the search functionality within Windows.  Just search for “File Explorer.”
  3. Make sure the navigation pane is viewable.  You can enable the navigation pane in the View settings.

  1. Right mouse click on This PC in the navigation pane and select Map network drive…
  2. In the Map network drive window, choose a drive letter to map the drive to.  It does not matter which drive letter you chose.  Choose a letter that is not already assigned to another network drive.
  3. Enter the Folder path.  You will get this folder path from your IT support technician, lab manager, administrative supervisor, or faculty member.
  4. Make sure Reconnect at sign-in and Connect using different credentials are both checked.
  5. Click Finish.

  1. A new window will pop up asking for a login.  Your username should be in the format of: CORNELL\YourNetID.  Your password will be your NetID password.
  2. Click Remember my credentials, and then click OK.  The network file share will open.
