On the touch panel push ‘Manual Start’.
Using the PC: (Located in the lectern):
- Push the ‘Room PC’ button on the left-hand side of the touch panel
- Push ‘Primary Output’ then push the ‘Left Projector’ and ‘Right Projector buttons
- The projector will turn on and the screen will come down
- The image from the PC will appear on the projectors
- Note: The system is set up to duplicate the image from the PC on the projector
- If you would like to use the Confidence Monitor, click the ‘Confidence Monitor’ button above
- Audio: To adjust the volume of the PC audio, use the volume slider on the PC first, then use the ‘Room’ volume controls on the touch panel for further adjustment.
- Using Zoom:
- The microphones and camera are integrated and can be used as inputs for Zoom
- Start/join a Zoom meeting from a link or cornell.zoom.us
- See the ‘Camera Control’ section below if you wish to adjust camera selection or positioning
Using the Laptop: (Located in the lectern):
- Connect your laptop to the HDMI cable at the lectern.
- Use an adapter if your laptop does not have an HDMI output
- HDMI to USB-C adapter is located in the drawer of the lectern
- Push the ‘Laptop’ button on the left-hand side of the touch panel
- Push ‘Primary Output’ then push the ‘Left Projector’ and ‘Right Projector buttons
- The projector will turn on and the screen will come down
- The image from your laptop will appear on the projector
- If you would like to use the Confidence Monitor, click the ‘Confidence Monitor’ button above
- Audio: To adjust the volume of the laptop audio, use the volume slider on your laptop first, then use the ‘Room’ volume controls on the touch panel for further adjustment.
- Using Zoom:
- Connect the USB cable located on the lectern to your laptop
- This will allow the microphones and cameras to be used as inputs for Zoom
- Start/join a Zoom meeting from a link or cornell.zoom.us
- Change the Camera and Microphone inputs in Zoom to ‘AV Bridge’
- Your laptop is now using the microphones and room camera in Zoom
- See the ‘Camera Control’ section below if you wish to adjust camera selection or positioning
Using the Document Camera:
- The document camera is located in the drawer of the lectern.
- Raise the arm of the document camera and hit the power button on the equipment.
- The light will turn on and the document camera will power up.
- Push the ‘Doc Cam’ button on the touch panel then ‘Front Projector’ and ‘Confidence Panel’ buttons to make the doc cam image appear on their respective screens.
Using Wireless Presentation (Mersive Solstice):
- Click the “Wireless Presentation” button on the left side of the touch panel
- Click ‘Primary Output’ then click the ‘Front Panel’ button above
- The projector will turn on and the screen will come down
- The splash screen for the Mersive Solstice will appear on the projector
- If you have not used a Mersive Solstice before:
- Find the CONNECT BY WEB area in the bottom left of the splash screen
- On your laptop, open a browser, and enter the IP address listed into the address bar
- On the webpage that opens, click ‘Get the App’
- Install the application, then follow the instructions below
- If you have used a Mersive Solstice before:
- Open the Mersive Solstice application
- In the list of ‘Other Displays’, look for MVR 1153 and click it
- If you do not see any displays listed, enter the IP address from the Mersive splash page and select MVR 1153
- When prompted to enter the Screen Key, enter the corresponding key on the Mersive splash page
- Now, use the app to share any content you would like from your laptop like you would in Zoom.
- The shared content will appear on the projector
Multiple people can connect to the Mersive Solstice at the same time and what content is displayed on the projector
Using the Microphones: (Located in the lectern’s drawer):
- There are 2 available microphones, a handheld and a lavalier/clip on.
- Once the microphone is turned on you can adjust the volume using the ‘Mic’ volume control on the touch panel
Camera Control:
- To access the camera controls, push the ‘Camera’ button on the touch panel in the top left
- There are 2 cameras in the space:
- Camera: Faces Audience
- Camera: Faces Speaker and Lectern
- If the view you are seeing when using Zoom is not the view you need you will have to modify the camera settings
- Push the ‘Front’ or ‘Back’ buttons depending on which camera you’d like to use
- When using the ‘Back’ camera, use the Preset buttons on the right-hand side of the page to choose a view
- Preset 1: Close view of the lectern and the presenter
- Preset 2: View of the whole front of the room
- Preset 3: Wide, zoomed out view of the room
- Manually Adjusting the Camera View:
- When a camera is selected:
- Use the ▲▼◄ ► buttons to move the camera’s view in the corresponding directions
- Use the and the ‘In’ and ‘Out’ buttons under the ‘Zoom’ section to adjust the camera’s Zoom
