How to install a networked printer
Installing via Printer Directory
1. Search for ‘print’ in Windows search bar. Choose ‘printers & scanners’

2. After printers and scanners opens, choose the ‘Add a printer or scanner’ button. Windows will start searching for printers.
3. Choose “The printer that I want isn’t listed” option. The “Add Printer” dialog box will open. Uncheck “Let Windows manage my default printer”

4. In the “Add printer” prompt, choose “Find a printer in the directory, based on location or feature.” Click next on the Add printer prompt.
5. The ‘Find Printers’ prompt will open and show printers for many different departments on campus.
6. In the Name: text box type in SCL and then click “Find now”. This will show a list of all the SCL printers.

7. If you do not find your printer in here, also try searching for for SAS or VPE
8. Most people will want to search by their department. Be sure to include a hyphen between SCL and your department name. Here are some examples-
- SCL-CBS Campus Book Store
- SCL- CL Campus Life
- SCL-DOS or SAS-DOS Dean of Students
- SCL-ATH or SAS-ATH Athletics
- VPE-FAO Financial Aid
- SCL-OUR or SAS-OUR Registrar’s Office
- You can also search via your location in the “Name:” textbox by typing the building name and surrounding it in asterisks. For example, -
- *Balch*
- *Teagle*
- *PrintShop*
- *WSH*
- *Caldwell*
- *Day Hall*
- Once you find the printer you want, click on it, and select “OK”
Installing via Printer Name
1. Follow steps 1-3 from above to open the “Add printer” prompt
2. At the “Add printer” prompt choose “Select a shared printer by name”
3. Click the “Browse” button
4. Type in \\sasprint2\ in the drop-down text box on the top and press the enter key.

5. You can search for printers in the text box in the top right corner. Follow the same printer name format used in steps 6-8 above.
6. Click on the printer you want to install and then click the “Select” button.
