Body
CCE Monroe County staff and affiliates can print to the Canon copier located on the first floor near the stairs. A department code is required to print or copy. This code ensures accurate cost tracking and prevents unauthorized use of the copier.
The printer name displayed on your computer may vary depending on how it was installed.
- CCEMON Canon c5860i PCL6 on sf-ext-003.serverfarm.cornell.edu
Prints through the print server.
Default settings: 2-sided and black & white.
- CCEMON Canon (local)
Prints directly to the same Canon copier, bypassing the print server.
- Typically this option is only installed for staff who need to print very large files.
Best Practice: Use Assigned Mailbox
Always print to your assigned mailbox on the copier rather than printing documents directly. This ensures better security, prevents documents from being left unattended, and helps avoid printing on the wrong color or type of paper.
Note: Known Issue with Windows Photos App and Chrome
Do not print directly from the Windows Photos app or Google Chrome because the department code pop-up may not appear.
- Instead, use the following methods to print photos:
- Import and resize photos in a program such as Microsoft Word or PowerPoint, then print to the copier.
- For Google Chrome, click on "More Settings" > "Print using system dialog..."
This ensures the department code pop-up appears.
If the copier does not appear as an option on your computer or you do not know your department code, please contact your local IT support.
