Troubleshooting
- Backup Alert e-mail notice (sender: noreply@crashplan.com)- If your backup has not run in over 7 days, you will receive a backup alert via e-mail.
- If your computer has been off during the past week, you do not need to do anything. Once your computer is back online, the backup will start running again automatically.
- If your computer has been on during the past week, please go through the following steps.
- Close all open programs and files
- Restart your computer, while connected to power and internet
- Go to Start menu -> Crashplan -> open Crashplan app (looks like a blue folder icon)
- Login:
username - [Enter your full Cornell e-mail address]
server address: *should be pre-filled* but if not the server address to put in is: clients.us2.crashplan.com
- This will open the typical Cornell login page and prompt you for two-step login, proceed through that, and then close the browser window when prompted
- Allow Crashplan app to run backup – it will show on the screen when backup is complete.
- If you cannot sign into Crashplan, or if you receive an error, contact your IT helpdesk.
