A/V Renovation project background

Type 100 rooms are standard learning spaces capable of supporting lectures, basic digital/multimedia presentations, basic collaboration, and informal remote collaboration (synchronous, software-based). Appropriate for many small to medium-sized classrooms as well as some large lecture halls. You can find out more about current room standards at https://it.cornell.edu/integrated-av/av-standards

CALS OIT’s A/V team is participating in an update to the Cornell A/V standards to take advantage of emerging technologies and support innovative teaching methods.

The decision regarding what rooms to upgrade was arrived at by reviewing rooms that had the most technology challenges, requests from instructors to the CALS Registrar, as well as rooms that were approaching or exceeding the expected six-year lifecycle of A/V technology in CALS classrooms.
