Accelerate Johnson and Destination Johnson Registration and the Bus Waitlist

Summary

Admitted applicants register for Accelerate Johnson (AJ) and Destination Johnson (DJ) through a form on the admissions apply site. The events themselves are Linvio events. This page explains who can open the form, what happens when they submit it, and how the Destination Johnson charter bus seats and waitlist work.

Body

Admitted applicants register for Accelerate Johnson (AJ) and Destination Johnson (DJ) through a form on the admissions apply site. The events themselves are Linvio events. This page explains who can open the form, what happens when they submit it, and how the Destination Johnson charter bus seats and waitlist work.

Who can register

An applicant can open the registration form only when all of these are true:

  • They're signed in to the apply site.
  • Their application is in the program the event is for. For example, Destination Johnson is for the Cornell MBA.
  • Their application status is Offer, Offer from Waitlist, Contingent Offer, Deposit Required, Accepted or Deferred.
  • Registration is open. Each event's form has an open date and a close date.
  • They're on a computer. The form doesn't open on a phone.

Applicants reach the form either from the registration link Admissions sends them, or from the registration button on their apply site Status page. The button only shows while registration is open. A link opened while signed out goes to the sign-in page first, then to the form.

If any condition isn't met, the applicant sees a general error page. The most common reasons are the wrong program, the wrong status, registration being closed, or a phone.

What happens when they submit

  • Their registration is saved on their attendee record for the event. If they registered before, the form opens with their earlier answers, and submitting again updates them.
  • Their status is set to Registered or, if they decline, Canceled. Any guests they registered get the same status.
  • They get an email confirming the registration, the update, or the decline.
  • A spouse guest is removed if they change Bring Spouse to No.

Event attendance and application fee waivers work as for other Linvio events. See Linvio Events - Waive Application Fee.

The Destination Johnson charter bus

Registrants can ask for one or two seats on the NYC charter bus. Salesforce assigns seats in order, about a minute after each registration or change. It shows the result in DJ Charter Bus Status:

DJ Charter Bus Status What it means
Confirmed Seats on the Bus They have their seats
Bus Seating Waitlist The bus is full. DJ Bus Waitlist Position shows their place.
Not on the Bus They canceled, declined, or chose no bus

When someone registers

  • There are seats: they're confirmed and get an on the bus email.
  • The bus is full: they're added to the end of the waitlist and get a waitlist email.

When seats open up

A registrant on the bus who declines, cancels the bus, or drops from two seats to one frees their seats. Salesforce then goes down the waitlist in order:

  • Each person whose request fits in the freed seats moves onto the bus. They get an on the bus email, and a task records that it was sent.
  • Everyone else moves up the waitlist.

Someone who asked for two seats stays on the waitlist if only one seat opened, and the next person who asked for one seat can move ahead of them.

Going from one seat to two while on the bus keeps both seats, even if the bus is then over capacity. This is intended.

Watching the bus: the DJ Bus Report shows current seats and waitlist positions.

For Admissions staff

  • Changing the form's questions: use the Admissions Application Configurator during the annual update. See Admissions Application Configurator.
  • Opening or closing registration, or setting up next year's events: the open and close dates and the link to each year's Linvio event are set by the Salesforce team. Submit a ticket with the dates.
