Summary
For Statler Hotel restaurant staff: standard browser checks for OpenTable sign-in problems, then reservation and table questions to the Director of Food and Beverage, user access to the F and B administrators, and a ticket to the IT help desk first for covers not matching the POS, with the Hotel System Manager for urgent cases after the ticket is submitted.
Body
About OpenTable
OpenTable is the Statler Hotel restaurant reservation system. It handles dining reservations, table management, and guest seating, and it runs in a web browser. You may hear it called "Reservations," "Restaurant Reservations," or "OpenTable." OpenTable is an outside web service that IT does not support.
Who to contact
- Reservation or table management questions: the Director of Food and Beverage, the Product Champion for OpenTable.
- User access: users are set up by the Food and Beverage administrators. For help with user management, log a ticket with the IT help desk.
- Covers in OpenTable do not match the POS, or anything else between OpenTable and the POS: log a ticket with the IT help desk first (see "Still need help?" below).
If you cannot sign in or the page will not load - try these first
- Open a private or incognito browser window and try to sign in again.
- Clear the browser cache and cookies, then try again.
- Turn off all browser extensions, then try again.
- Try a different browser - Chrome, Edge, or Firefox.
- Confirm you have a working internet connection.
- Fully close and restart the browser, then try again.
- Ask whether other people are seeing the same problem. If several people cannot sign in, OpenTable itself is probably offline. IT cannot fix that - tell the Director of Food and Beverage, who can contact OpenTable.
- Confirm you are using the correct web address or bookmark.
Common questions
- Covers in OpenTable do not match the POS. This is an integration problem. Log a ticket with the IT help desk.
- Several people cannot sign in. OpenTable is probably offline. Tell the Director of Food and Beverage.
Still need help?
The order is: Director of Food and Beverage, then the IT help desk (log a ticket) for integration and admin problems, then the Hotel System Manager, then the vendor (OpenTable), contacted by whoever administers OpenTable.
Always log a ticket with the IT help desk first (itrequests@business.cornell.edu). If the situation is critical or urgent, you can then contact the Hotel System Manager directly, after you have submitted the ticket. Your manager or department director knows how to reach the Hotel System Manager and is empowered to do so based on their judgment.
