This guide explains how to use a Zoom Room with a wall-mounted touch panel and a TV display. It covers powering the TV, sharing a screen with and without a Zoom meeting, inviting the room to a meeting, joining a meeting, and changing the layout in dual-screen rooms.
Prerequisites
- A personal device with the Zoom desktop app installed, or the room's built-in PC.
- Access to the room's wall-mounted touch panel.
Power the TV On and Off
- Tap the touch panel to power the TV on.
- Alternatively, press the power button on the TV or remote (if provided).
Share a Screen in the Room (No Zoom Meeting)
From a personal device
- On the wall-mounted touch panel, select the blue Share Content button.

- On your personal device, open the Zoom desktop app and select the blue Share Screen button.

- Type the Sharing Key (shown on the TV monitor) into the popup box on your device. For example:
TJCKFH.
- Select the blue Share Screen button. Your screen is now shared to the monitor.
From the built-in PC
- Select the green Share Screen button.
- If the PC does not share automatically, select the blue Share to meeting button.
Invite the Room to a Zoom Meeting
You can invite the room to your Zoom meetings so that when you arrive, you can join your meeting from the room's touch panel. A complete list of Zoom Room calendar names and email addresses is available in the Zoom Room Calendar Addresses article.
Through Canvas
- Set up the Zoom meeting in Canvas as normal.
- In the Zoom Room section, type the name of the room where the class or event is taking place, and select it when it appears in the list.

Through Cornell Zoom
- Set up the Zoom meeting at
cornell.zoom.us as normal.
- In the Invitees section, type the Zoom Room's email address and select it when it appears in the list.

Through Outlook
Google Calendar will not work for this method.
- Schedule your Zoom meeting as normal.
- Copy the Zoom meeting link (only the link).
- In Outlook, create a new calendar event and fill out the following fields:
- Title: how you want the meeting to show up on the monitor in the room.
- Time: the scheduled time of your room reservation or meeting.
- Invite Attendees: the name or email address of the Zoom Room. The name is listed on the bottom right of the room's monitor. For example:
Sage Hall (Breakout) 249 or 249sagehall@cornell.edu.
- Body: paste the copied Zoom link only.

Note: If you cannot find the Zoom Room calendar when you type its name, select the Required box and type the name in the search bar of the popup box. After you do this the first time, you should be able to search for it normally.
Join a Zoom Meeting
Pre-invited meetings
If the room was invited following the steps above, the meeting appears on the touch panel. Tap the meeting, then tap Join.

Meetings the room was not invited to
If the room was not invited before the meeting started, use one of these options on the touch panel:
- New Meeting: creates a new Zoom meeting. To share the meeting information with others, press the green shield in the top left of the touch panel screen. The meeting ID and passcode appear in a popup window.
- Join: enter a Zoom meeting ID and passcode to join an existing meeting.
