Summary

How JCB faculty and staff submit a new project request to the JCB IT team through the TeamDynamix (TDX) client portal, what to include, and what happens after you submit.

When to use this

Use this process when you have a new need that goes beyond routine support — something that requires planning, resourcing, or coordination from JCB IT (a new system, a significant change, a website, an integration, or similar). Day-to-day issues and simple requests should go through the normal JCB IT support/ticket channels instead, not the project request form.

Where to go

  1. Open the JCB IT Portal in your browser: tdx.cornell.edu/TDClient/48/Portal/Home/
  2. Click the red Submit Project Request button. The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business Project Request form opens.
  3. Fill out the form as completely as you can — the more context you provide, the faster the PM team can evaluate and route it. Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required. For more on any field, click its ? icon, or use Show Help / Hide Help at the top of the form.
  4. Click Save. A Draft Request Created: Further Action Required page opens and shows your Request ID. Your request is saved, but it has not been submitted for review yet.
  5. Click Review and Submit. Your request opens, showing its details and a status of Not Submitted in the top-right corner.
  6. Review the details, then click Submit. Once you submit a request, you can't edit it.

Fields on the form

Field What to enter
Sponsor Name * The person who "owns" the project on behalf of the organization — the person with overall responsibility for the project who can authorize work to begin. To submit a project on behalf of someone else, enter their name here.
Acct/Dept * The department in your organization that the project falls under.
Project Name * A name for the project.
Project Description * A short description of the project.
Requested Start Date * The date the project must start by.
Requested End Date * The date the project must end by.
Priority * Low, Medium, High, or Emergency.

Submit your request

A request has two states:

  • Not Submitted (draft) — after you click Save. JCB IT does not see it yet, and it stays a draft until you submit it.
  • Submitted — after you click Submit, the request goes to the JCB IT PM team, who take ownership from there.

Clicking Save alone does not send your request. Make sure you click Submit — a draft request won't be reviewed.

Track or edit your request

  • You can find your requests again under Services → Project Requests in the portal.
  • Once you submit a request, you can't edit it.

What happens next

Once submitted, the JCB IT Project Management team reviews your request, evaluates it, and follows up. The request is now owned by the PM team.

Need help?

If you have trouble with the form or aren't sure whether your need is a project, contact JCB IT through the normal support channel.
