Siteimprove Browser Extension

You can add a Siteimprove browser extension to your preferred browser: https://www.siteimprove.com/why-siteimprove/integrations/browser-extensions/

• You need to load the page you want to check and activate the tool. The tool will then give you information about the page including information about accessibility problems.
• Once you have navigated to the webpage you want to check, click the Siteimprove browser extension.
  • NOTE: if this is your first time clicking the extension, a form to register for Siteimprove will appear.  Click the 'Skip Form' button at the bottom of the form - you do not need to complete the form to use the browser extension.
• After you click the Siteimprove browser extension, it will analyze your website and a popup will appear listing any accessibility issues it finds.  You can click directly into the issues to view more information.

Review your site's accessibility level by using Siteimprove to scan your site: https://it.cornell.edu/siteimprove

• Create a Siteimprove account (if you don't already have one): https://it.cornell.edu/siteimprove/access-existing-website-siteimprove
• Add your Cvent site to your Siteimprove account: https://it.cornell.edu/siteimprove/set-account-and-request-access-website
  • NOTE: this does involve requesting CIT to add the website to your Siteimprove account.
• Once your site is added to Siteimprove

• Keyboard Navigation and Functionality
• Use of Color: there should be at least a 4.5:1 color contrast, which can be checked using https://vispero.com/color-contrast-checker/
• Media Supports (such as images, videos, etc): https://it.cornell.edu/accessibility/accessibility-and-embedded-videos-helpful-guide
• Screen Reader testing: https://dequeuniversity.com/screenreaders/
  • Windows: use Non-Visual Desktop Access or Job Access With Speech
  • Mac: VoiceOver (Apple's built-in tool)
  • Mobile: native tool for mobile device
