How to Connect to the JCB Shared Drive from an Apple Computer

Before you begin

  • If you are off campus, connect to the JCB VPN first. It is required for off-campus connections to the JCB Shared Drive.
  • The Jamf Self Service application is installed on your Mac.
  • Your Cornell NetID and password.

Steps

  1. Open the Self Service application.
  2. Find Connect to JCB Shared Drive and click Connect.
  3. On the next screen, read the information provided, then click Connect.
  4. If you see You are attempting to connect to the server "files.cornell.edu", click Connect.

  5. When prompted for your sign-in details: 
  1. Select Registered User.
  2. Enter your Cornell NetID.
  3. Enter your Cornell password.
  4. Check Remember this password in my keychain so you do not need to sign in each time you connect.
  5. Click Connect.

Expected result

You are now connected to the JCB Shared Drive. Open Finder to navigate to the files you need.

  • Off campus? Confirm you are connected to the JCB VPN, then try again.
  • Sign-in not accepted? Re-enter your Cornell NetID and password, making sure the password is current.
