Get Started with Box Drive

Box Drive is an application that allows you to access your Box files from your desktop via Windows File Explorer or Apple Mac Finder.  When you open a file using Box Drive, it downloads the file from Box to your computer allowing you to open it locally rather than using your browser.

Box Drive can be installed using Software Center or Self-Service.

  • On Windows: Select Software CenterApplications, then Box Drive
  • On Mac: Select Self-ServiceOptional Software, then Box Drive.

After installation, a Login screen will open asking you to sign in:

  1. On the Box Login screen, select Use Single Sign On (SSO).
  2. Enter your NetID@cornell.edu address, then click Log In. You'll see the CUWebLogin screen.
  3. Log in with your NetID and associated password. You may also see Cornell's Two-Step Login prompt.

After a short delay (perhaps a minute), a new Box desktop shortcut will appear and a Welcome to Box window will open.
