How-To Connect to JCB Fileserver from Home (From a PC)

If you are unable to remote into your office computer or are using your work laptop at home and do not have an office computer to remote into, you can connect to the JCB Fileserver from your home computer.

Step 1: Connect to the JCB-VPN

1. You will need to have the Cisco VPN installed – If not already installed please follow steps provided in the How to Install Cisco VPN Client on a PC instructions - https://tdx.cornell.edu/TDClient/48/Portal/KB/ArticleDet?ID=331
2. You will need to be connected to the JCB-VPN – Please follow steps provided in the Connecting to the VPN instructions - https://tdx.cornell.edu/TDClient/48/Portal/KB/ArticleDet?ID=293

Step 2: Connect to the JCB Fileserver

3. Once connected to the JCB-VPN, Click the Start Menu or Windows 10 icon in the lower left hand corner
   1. 
4. Type “File Explorer”

5. When it pops up, Click on File Explorer

6. When File Explorer opens, on the left-hand side Click on This PC

7. Click on Computer

8. Click on Map network drive dropdown, then click Map network drive again.

9. Enter in the following:
   1. Drive:                 Select J:
   2. Folder:               \\files.cornell.edu\jcb
   3. Check Reconnect at sign-in
   4. Check Connect using different credentials

10. Click Finish
11. Enter in your Cornell credentials and Click OK
    1. Username:                      Cornell\NetID            - (where NetID is your Cornell NetID)
    2. Password:                       Your Cornell password
    3. Check Remember my credentials

12. The J:\ drive should then open as shown below:
