2024/09/25 MAE support portal rollout

Dear colleagues,

I'm pleased to announce that thanks to the hard work of our staff team—with special shoutout to Rose Howard and Meredith Czymmek—our new support portal is live and ready for use.  I'd also like to thank the faculty, staff, and students who've beta tested the system for us and helped to refine our processes. I urge you to bookmark the link for ease of access.

Our portal and ticketing system is designed to over time become a one-stop shop for all our constituents to access support related to purchasing, account reviews and updates, student hires etc, as well as review department policies, and access onboarding/off-boarding procedures.

Effective Monday September 30th, all requests for support, including questions related to accounting, purchasing, travel support etc. should be submitted via a ticket on the support portal.

This is phase one of our efforts to create a central hub that captures the majority of our business activities to support all our constituent groups. As the academic year progresses, we will be rolling out a knowledge base to capture how-tos and frequently asked questions. Our hope is that our portal will reduce administrative burden for faculty, staff, and students; over time eliminate the need for managing critical work tasks via email; automate rote processes that are currently done manually; and allow us to track and manage our high volume of requests in a timely fashion.

I know change is hard at even the best of times, so I appreciate your patience as we move through this next round of transformation in how we deliver service and support to all the citizens who constellate our department.
