Using DTEN Zoom Rooms at Cornell Law School
This guide explains how to share your device’s screen for in-person meetings and how to join a Zoom meeting using the DTEN display.
DTEN Home Screen
- The DTEN display is always powered on.
- If the screen is dark, wake it by touching the screen or using the keyboard and mouse.
Sharing Your Laptop Screen for In-Person Use Only (Option A)
1. Sign in to your Cornell Zoom account using the SSO option in the Zoom app on your device.
2. From the Zoom app on your device, click the Pair icon in the upper right-hand corner.

3. Select Share Screen.

4. When you are finished using the technology, return to the Pair icon in the Zoom app and select Disconnect from the bottom of the drop-down menu.
Sharing Your Device Screen for In-Person Use Only (Option B)
1. Tap Share on the DTEN display

2. From your device go to share.zoom.us and enter the information from the DTEN under Use Browser


3. Follow the prompts from your device to start your screen sharing.

4. When you’re finished sharing your screen select Stop Sharing from your device
Hosting a Scheduled Zoom Meeting (Hybrid)
1. Sign in to your Cornell Zoom account using the SSO option in the Zoom app on your device.
2. Open Zoom and go to the Meetings tab.
3. Instead of clicking Start, click the three-dot menu and select Join from Room and as Companion.

4. Enter the Sharing Key shown in the upper right-hand corner of the DTEN display.

The DTEN’s built-in camera and microphone will be used by default.
Joining a Zoom Meeting from the DTEN
1. Tap Join on the DTEN display.

2. Enter the Meeting ID and Passcode (if required).
The meeting will use the DTEN’s built-in webcam and microphone.
Note: Ensure the host has joined the meeting or has enabled Allow participants to join anytime in the meeting's advanced options.
Sharing Your Laptop Screen During a Meeting
1. On your laptop, open Zoom and click Share Screen.
2. Enter the Meeting ID and Passcode (if prompted).
3. If sharing media, check Share Sound and Optimize for Video Clip.
Hybrid New Meeting and Sharing Your Laptop Screen
1. Sign in to your Cornell Zoom account using the SSO option in the Zoom app on your device.
2. Open the Zoom app on your laptop, tablet, or smartphone and click New Meeting.
3. Click Start.
4. Get the Meeting ID and Passcode by clicking the green shield icon in the upper left of the Zoom app window.
Note: Audio and video are not enabled in this mode.
5. On the DTEN, click Join, then enter the Meeting ID and Passcode.
6. On your device, click Share Screen and select what to share.
7. If sharing media, check Share Sound and Optimize for Video.
