In order to keep Cornell Law School (CLS) computers and data secure, CLS provides all faculty and staff with a Law IT managed computer for work related purposes. The majority of CLS computers purchased are part of standard bundles Cornell has approved to streamline purchasing and support of computers across the university. Slight modifications to bundles are available in special circumstances. Below are some important notes regarding ordering/ purchasing computers:
- All computer purchasing requests should go through Law IT in order to ensure they are appropriate for CLS related work and to remain in compliance with university policy.
- All computers purchased with CLS funds, including research, departmental, and program funds, will be managed by Law IT.
- These devices are intended to be used for CLS work related purposes.
- Computers purchased from the Cornell Store are included in this guidance.
- For computers that have reached end-of-life and are due to be replaced, Law IT will reach out to the appropriate department to discuss replacement options.
